Lady Gaga was with them in spirit, or on the air, so to speak. Her song, Just Dance, was made an integral part of the safety demonstration of a Philippine airline company, Cebu Pacific. So, instead of the usual blah, blahs on how to put on your seatbelt or the safety mask if deployed, the cabin crew thought of a more creative way to entice passengers to listen – do the safety demonstration to the tune of Lady Gaga’s Just Dance.
And dance is what several of the Philippine airline’s flight attendants did. Hence, the safety demonstration has now been dubbed as the “safety dance” — choreographed moves that has become viral as a YouTube video.
According to Candice Iyog, the airline’s vice president for marketing and distribution, “The safety demo dance rendition is just another way to bring out our fun culture and showcase our homegrown talents. We plan to roll this out onto more flights after receiving great commendations from the global public.”
That “global public” now includes Ryan Seacrest who has tweeted about the video.
Iyog added, “We do not compromise safety in anything we do, and it will remain our primary concern. We just really know how to have fun too.”
