Autism Speaks on World Autism Awarenesss Day 2010
According to statistics, autism affects an estimated 10 to 20 people of every 10,000 people. In addition, it is also recorded that autism is more prevalent in boys than girls in the US. In order to become educated with this disease, the United Nations General Assembly under resolution number 62/139 created April 2 as the date of World Autism Awareness Day.
Today, April 2, 2010, we are celebrating this World Autism Awareness Day 2010. Autism speaks in this day of global awareness. In that regard, a website is created to help society get informed about autism. With the rising costs of medical assistance an autistic child needs, World Autism Awareness Day will shine a bright light on autism as a growing global health crisis.
