2010 NFL Draft Results: Ron Gronkowski Joins Patriots

The Round 2 of the 2010 NFL Draft results were out. Among the various NFL trade in various teams, Patriots selected Rob Gronkowski with the 42nd pick overall after trading with the Raiders.

An emotional Ron Gronkowski broke into tears after he heard the good news that he will be joining Patriots. He then put the Patriots helmet on and started dancing in excitement.

Rob Gronkowski played for Arizona Wildcats for two years garnering 75 passes for 1,197 yards and 16 touchdowns. Last year, he didn’t play in the entire NFL season due to a surgery to fix a herniated disk and repair nerve damage in his back.

Ron Gronkowski was considered by to be among the most complete tight end in the 2010 NFL draft. In fact, he was twice named the “John Mackey National Tight End of the Week” before.

The 6-foot-6, 265-pounder NFL player said: “I saw that New England was right behind Baltimore, so I saw that I had a pretty good chance of going right in that row, going to Baltimore or New England. I’m happy that New England traded up right in front of Baltimore and took me. I think it was an excellent choice, and I think it’s going to be great to be part of such a great organization.”
